A "Johnism"

So, John and I are discussing the various possible Democrats running for the Presidency. Well, the subject of religion/politics comes up and then I hear the following statement from John:

"Religion is the worst man-made concept we've ever thought of."

I couldn't help it, I laughed for half an hour. I have no idea why.

Laughing AND Crying

Here is a link to UTUBE on which I have a video of Sarah both crying and laughing at the same time. She was crying so I turned on the camera. It happens a lot in the late day and can interrupt dinner. Once it has begun, sounds exacerbate it. I don't know how to help her. Usually I have to put her in her bed where it is quiet. Only there can she settle down. It takes about 1/2 hour or so for her to relax. Anyway, here is a little example...it starts out not bad but escalates by the end. I cough and our cat meows which moves it into full gear for your viewing pleasure:

Moving Along

These are a few pictures that show how quickly life is moving along for us. At the top is John getting his senior picture taken. Next is Jimmy and myself. Jimmy is graduating from The George Washington University in the spring. The third shot is of Jimmy and my brother Jimmy whom I named my Jimmy after (got that?). And finally the last pic is John looking over his acceptance letter to Seton Hall University. He wants to major in Sports Management. It all just goes too fast but I am proud.

She's The One

As the song by Robbie Williams goes:

I was her
She was me
We were one
We were free

If there's somebody calling me on...
She's the one
If there's somebody calling me on...
She's the one

When you get to where you want to go
And you know the things you want to know
You're smiling

When you said what you want to say
And you know the way you want to play it
You'll be so high
You'll be flying

Though the sea
Will be strong
And the wind carry on
If there's somebody calling me on...
She's the one
Yes, she's the one

Lifting You-know-who

I suppose these pics that John took speak for themselves. 60 pounds of dead weight. I have fabulous biceps..in fact, another nurse at work commented on them, asking me what do i do with my arms that results in such muscles....I am a "glass-half-full" kinda girl so I prefer to focus on what Sarah's weight is doing for my increasing musculature and bone density. As John so matter-of-factly put- "Mom, if you lift her every day you will always be able to lift her because she is not going to gain much weight in one single day." I tell myself this every morning as I lift my girl out of bed. So far, he is on the mark :-)

Here is a short christmas slide show-

It's been a year since i wrote

Wow! A whole year. Exactly a year. Strange how that worked out. All is good. Still. Hooray. We are all gearing up for an eventful 2007. Every one of us will be moving. Jimmy from college to a job and an apartment somewhere in the US, John to a college somewhere in the US, and Sarah and I to a new home somewhere....hopefully it will be a smooth transition for us all. Fingers crossed :) A young man in John's senior class died last night from Cancer. Tragic in so many ways. Lots of sadness for the kids. Graduation will be bittersweet for the group. Affecting the whole town of Sandwich I am sure. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family...there are no words...there but for the grace of God go I.

Here is a slideshow of Sarah's summer:
