This has been the snowiest winter! Basically, I cannot take Sarah out because it is too icy and cold. Fortunately, she loves to be home and does not get bored. This is a quiet time of year for us, hence the few posts. But as soon as I type this, something will probably happen :)

Speaking of Joy
The boys make me laugh. They are funny, without knowing it.
So I walk into John's room after a grueling night at work. It is about 1 am. I am so very tired and drained.
I see this and burst out laughing.

It is so unexpected and so 'JOHN". A neat line of socks. Hanging off his desk. What is this? What is he doing? And the stress of the night just evaporates. I don't know why it strikes me as so funny, but it does. And I am thankful.
The answer to the little soldier socks? They were still damp from the dryer and he was drying them. He is so organized.
And then there is Jimmy. As he was packing to fly back to Washington, DC., he calls out, "Mom, I am leaving a pair of sneakers here because I can't fit them in my bag!"
The next day I open up the closet and I see this, and again I laugh:

Why is there a used toothbrush propped in his sneakers? I know one thing for sure, it means he is coming back. And I am thankful. Thankful that he is planning his return, even if he is thinking he will use this old toothbrush. Which is propped in old sneakers.
I will not replace it, I will leave it just as he left it. And happily anticipate his return in the late Spring.
